On just her second day on the job, she answered a call that even seasoned emergency professionals might have had trouble with.Wanda Fernandez went into labor at home Tuesday so her 25-year-old niece, Melissa, grabbed the phone and dialed 911. "My aunt?'ll have a baby," she told Villarica in the panic. "The baby's head's right there?…the youngsters head's out."Villarica sent paramedics and immediately referred to a step-by-step reference guide for delivering a baby over the phone. "I?'m going to inform you how to help deliver the baby?…we?Will do what we can to help you her," Villarica said.The result was a baby girl named Trina, who was born two weeks premature. And at just one day old, Trina and her mother Wanda had the capacity to meet the rookie dispatcher who kept her cool.

Recently, Magnus came face to face with a Potomac predator, what locals call "a frankenfish." "When the fish hit, it absolutely was a really good fight," he tells CBS News Correspondent Thalia Assuras. "It's got one big fin that wraps all around the back, mouth full of teeth and incredibly, very slimy."And very voracious. Magnus had caught a northern snakehead, an Asian species that devours insects, crustaceans and thus much other underwater life that it threatens to starve the region's native fish. Magnus says, "Anything that one could pull a hook beyond, give it a wack in the head, throw it within the live well with no water, and four hours later it's still alive that's, that isn't right." Frankenfish, indeed. The snakehead can let out your breath of water and travel short distances on land, potentially infiltrating other river systems, a menacing monster that may change the ecosystem of the Northeast. Steve Early with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources says, "The fish don't belong here. They take on things that are here who do belong here. And we don't know what they're bringing in with them." No-one knows where the snakeheads came from, if they were bought alive in fish markets for food or kept in aquariums and then released in to the Potomac system. Whatever the case, the big worry might be that they're breeding.Wildlife officials hope that is not happening and are out trying to find snakeheads before the monsters multiply."My bottom line is eradication," Early says. "I would like them all out of the river." Using boats that zap electricity to paralyze river creatures so that they rise to the surface, the Maryland Fisheries Services determined to find where the snakeheads lurk. They have got used poison, and in some cases drained ponds, to eliminate them. Early says, "The threat with all of invasive species is that they will compete effectively and that they can dominate something." And that's why there's now a Potomac neighborhood watch system of sorts. State authorities are checking out anglers to catch the underwater bad guys, asking anyone who hooks someone to turn the fish in, dead or alive, but preferably dead. There's even a reward from Bass Pros Shop in Maryland. Owner Allan Ellis says, "It's not 'Jaws' thank goodness, but it's a top-of-the-food-chain predator." Magnus was the first to reap the bounty. What he'd favour, he said, is every snakehead beyond his river.
